ALTERATIONS - EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Ephemeral art, materiality, degradation and disappearance.
When a photograph is not of something, but it is something? (Geoffrey Batchen)
What is the relationship of a photograph to its image? Is photography necessarily a straight representation of reality? What does happen when photography is a deconstruction of the actual image? These images are an intervention to the photographic materiality to draw attention to the ways that photography has framed nature. They do not try to represent reality but offer a subjective interpretation between aesthetics and disappearance. |
