The Destructive Tool of Mechanization (2019)
“The destructive tool of mechanization” was an expression used by the artist Paul Strand when he warned about the risks of industrialization and mechanization in the 1920s. This piece is a response inspired by Strand and pretends to question our thoughts about mechanization and work. In this sense, to understand what is behind this artwork it is important to keep in mind and contextualize the terms of Actuality films, Essay films, and the points of view of Paul Strand and Harun Farocki.
